Our adventure to β€˜Peppa Pig Worldβ€™πŸ·

Last week Harvey and I were lucky enough to be invited along to the ‘Peppa Pig World’ grand preview event at Pultons Park. Peppa pig World opened in 2011 and has, understandably, been increasingly popular ever since! To meet demand, this year has seen the extension of the park with two new and exciting rides, as well as new characters, sights and scenes that are now popular in the increasing number of Peppa Pig episodes.

Last Friday Harvey and I, accompanied Β by my sister and niece, set off on a little road trip to Southhampton with great excitement, so much so, neither Harvey or his cousin Vivienne managed their much needed naps.

When we arrived, we were pleased to find the park was easy to locate and there was plenty of very accessible parking, important when you have two children and a buggy to unload.

We had never visited Pultons Park before so we weren’t really sure what to expect, but much to our delight it was full of beautiful open grass spaces (perfect for picnics and letting toddler run lose for a little), very child/toddler friendly rides and playgrounds.

We immediately set off towards the Peppa Pig area of the park and Harvey’s first words said it all ‘WOW’; the entire area looked amazing. Each ride was built around a different element of Peppa’s world (if you know the cartoon you will recognise the rides immediately).

We started by exploring the new area and the two new exciting rides. The Queens Flying Coach Ride, a monorail that travels around the new area with fantastic views across the whole of Peppa Pig World.

And Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club, where individual boats meander along a lazy river to discover pirate island.

Both the new rides were a hit with Harvey (age 1) and Vivienne (age 3). The rides moved smoothly and were appropriate for children of all ages, obviously no buggies were allowed on the rides but there was tremendous amounts of space to leave them before you enter the queuing areas. Β .

After testing out the two new rides we went to meet the characters, which Harvey absolutely adored, sharing lots of cuddles with both Peppa and George.

We then took a wonder around the rest of the new area, past the Queen’s Castle, a fantastic replica castle which stands 10 meters tall, creating a focal point within Peppa pig world and also home to The Queens Kitchen, a new catering outlet for this area of the park.

Next we went character spotting! As you take a wonder around Peppa Pig World you come across a selection of characters creating a great game of character spotting. Harvey loved looking for the new additions to the park including Gerald giraffe, Mr Bull, Peppa’s friends on Pirate Island, Grandpa pig snoozing on his boat and the Queen. One of Harvey’s favourites was spotting Mr Bulls Digger and Bulldozer digging up the road as well as Peppa jumping in muddy puddles!

After our time in the new area of the park we went on to explore the rest of Peppa Pig World. Here we tried out lot of different rides including Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride and Windy Castle. However, Daddy Pigs Car Ride was a clear favourite, as was Mr Potatoes Playground.

We also found a little time to explore a few other areas of Paultons Park. Although I’m sure we could spend a whole weekend there and still feel like there is so much more to do.

We left with two incredibly exhausted little people after a fantastic and very exciting day! We could not recommend it enough for an amazing family day out with your little ones and we can’t wait to go back!

lots of love

Counting Little Green Sheep…. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Just over a week ago we received some very exciting blogger mail in the form of a mattress from ‘The Little Green Sheep’ Company.

‘The Little Green Sheep’ Comany is a brand I have come across before and in all honesty had always heard very positive reviews about. So I was really excited to be able to try out one of their produts, review and feedback on our experience. I clearly remember the numerous searches for product review when I was expecting Harvey from buggys to bath seats, it’s endless.

Before I give you my thoughts I think it’s important to know a little about the brand, so here we are….

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

‘The Little Green Sheep’ was founded in 2006 by Mark Nicholls and Paul Maurice, two friends who first crossed paths whilst at University in Birmingham. Once they completed their University courses each ventured off on their relevant journeys, between them gathering experience in the product and marketing business as well as the organics industry. ‘The Little Green Sheep’ was grown later based on the simple idea of offering parents and babies the best in baby bedtimes and originated by the friends desire to design and manufacture a baby mattress that combined the best quality support, made in the most natural possible way (using natural and organic materials), the first mattress was launched in 2007!

πŸ‘ The Little Green Sheep Values & Beliefs

‘The Little Green Sheep’ believe in providing the best for babies. It’s this which inspires them to do what they do, creating beautifully made products; shaped by simple, honest ingredients, and produced in an ethical and appropriate way. They believe in providing babies with the most natural environment possible, away from toxins and harmful chemicals but never compromising on quality.

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

So how did we get on?

The mattress we chose to try out was the…

‘πŸ‘ Link – Twist Natural Cot Bed Mattress 70x140cm’

On first impressions the mattress looked great! It had a clean and appealing finish with a quilted cotton cover, looked smart, but also felt soft and comfortable.

After looking past the immediate visual impression the important thing to note is that the mattress (unlike many in the market) does not have a removable cover. Therefore it is recommended (essential) that you use a mattress protector to protect against any possible damp (I’m thinking poorly babies, leaky nappies and potty training toddler accidents). ‘The Little Green Sheep’ sell their own recommended mattress protectors which are just as soft and organic as the mattress it’s self!

‘ πŸ‘ Link – Little Green Sheep Mattress Protector’

The next thing to look at are the two sides to the mattress; these have been cleverly designed to take your baby through their toddler years to a recommended age of five.

The mattress has been smartly designed to incorporate two different sides of support. One with a side designed for 0-12 months (firm surface).

The other for side little ones from 12 months to five years (supple yet comfortably). Based on Harvey’s age, 14 months, we used the mattress on for the elder ones.

Harvey took to the mattress immediately, snuggling down with no complaints and sleeping happily through the night. Prior to Harvey’s nights on the mattress he was sleeping on a mattress made by a different brand and if I’m honest also had no difficulties sleeping. Harvey is generally a good sleeper, although an early riser (sadly the early rising didn’t change with the introduction of the new mattress, despite wishful thinking from both Mummy and Daddy).

So what were the benefits of the mattress?

First of all it gave me a greater peace of mind knowing that my baby was sleeping on a mattress that didn’t contain any chemicals or toxins. This made me feel happier and far more content about putting him down at night, and sometimes it is just the little things that make all the difference.

I also really loved the fact that the mattress is naturally fireproofed, further peace of mind for Mummy and Daddy. And finally, and most importantly, is that fact that by it being natural it is by far the most gentle on Harvey’s delicate skin(eczema prone).

Now having used a ‘The Little Green Sheep’ product for myself I am highly interested in their other products and I know with the new bump on the way I would love to discover more about some of their other items. As well as mattresses they now also produce a range of baby sleepwear including babygrows, sleepbags and bedding including sheets, pillows, duvets and muslins. The sheet we received in our trial is without a doubt one of the softest I’ve come across and I’ll certainly be investing in some more for both Harvey and the bump!

And finally in addition to all this they are also the creators of the well know co-sleeping baby crib; the snuzpod!

Good luck with your mattress search and baby purchases, I hoped this helped and I welcome any questions!

Surrey ‘s surprises

When I moved to Surrey last year, in preparation for the start of my new family life, I was more than slightly apprehensive about the lifestyle adjustment. Knowing I would no longer be able to swipe my contactless card and jump on an iconic red bus or step out my door knowing I was only a short train or tube ride from the bright lights and buzz of such a cosmopolitan city, quickly became a major concern. These days buses only pass the end of my road once an hour and only run for a select few hours of the day. Β Surprisingly this doesn’t bother me all that much any more. The nearest train station is within walking distance and can get me to Waterloo within what I Β would now consider a respectable time. For now this is all ok, although I will admit I often have a slight nostalgia for my previous existence, I am currently trying to embrace all that a Surrey life has to offer from quirky cottages to rural retreats and picturesque landscapes…

So many more hidden gems waiting to be discovered…

Growing up on the fringe of such a unique metropolitan city certainly had its perks! So in my early twenties, when I started looking for my first home, there really was only one option, It had to be London! However, last year life changed when I married the love of my life and we discovered we were about to start our own little family. So, in the hunt for our own little patch of green tranquility we spread our wings and moved to Surrey. This is me exploring my new lifestyle and documenting the adventure along the way!
